“Resting in God: The Art of Being” – A Centering Prayer Retreat Day

On Saturday, October 10, 2015, The Rt. Rev. Eugene Taylor Sutton, Bishop, Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, and LJ Milone, Director of Faith Formation at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Silver Spring, will lead a workshop exploring interior silence as prayer. There will be two continuing sessions on Oct. 24 and Nov 7. These workshops are co-sponsored by Contemplative Outreach of Maryland and Washington and St. John's Episcopal Church and will take place here at St. John's Episcopal Church. 8:30 a.m.  Registration and refreshments; 9:00 a.m.  Program begins. Men's Retreat: Being Christian in Challenging Times

This year the Men’s Retreat will be Friday, November 13, to Sunday, November 15. The theme is “Being Christian in Challenging Times.”  We will be meeting in the Christiane Center at the Bishop Claggett Center in Buckeystown, MD.  Each participant will have a private room with bath and the cost is $270.00 per person.

Worship During the Week
Monday Through Friday: Prayer service, 12 noon,

Resurrection Chapel.

Wednesdays: Evening Prayer, 6:00 p.m., Resurrection Chapel

This service includes 20 minutes of silent centering prayer.

Thursdays: Holy Eucharist and Healing Prayers, 7:00 a.m., Resurrection Chapel. An informal group gathers at the Double T Diner after the service.
