Let's CONNECT!

​In September 2024, we were excited to rebrand our faith formation programs as "St. John's Connect: Children's, Youth, and Adult Faith Formation." So, when you hear "St. John's Connect," you'll know it has to do with faith formation. You'll also see "Children's Connect," "Youth Connect," and "Adult Connect." Why Connect? Connection is key to good formation: vertical connection with God and horizontal connection with God's people. Conveniently, those vertical and horizontal connections make a cross! As we learn and grow in our faith, we aim to grow closer to God. One of the organic outcomes of doing that is growing closer to the people around us. Connection. It drives all that we do as a church. We want our children and youth to feel that connection. 

 

It's also great that we already have programs that use the word "connect": "College Connect" and "Kenya Connect". Our new church software is ALSO called "Realm Connect". I am a big believer that names are powerful and we can draw a lot simply from a name. St. John's Connect will stand as a reminder of what our focus is. 

 

Our youth programs have had names for what seems like eons: Breakfast Club, Rite-13, J2A, YAC, and SWAAG. This year, our children's classes will be called Littlest Disciples, Kids' Club, and Survivor. Our adult offerings are many and take place not only on Sundays but throughout the week.
