Matsiko World Orphan Choir - March 25th-28th
YAC is helping to bring the Matsiko World Orphan Choir to St. John's later this month. This choir is made up of 24 children from Liberia and they travel the country sharing their love of song and education. This is going to be a wonderful weekend of hosting the children and getting to know them! They will join us for worship on Sun., March 26th, and provide a concert later in the day at 4:00 p.m. in the Historic Church.
Here's how you can help!
HOST FAMILIES: We need families who will host the children (ages 8-16) and their chaperones. Host families will provide food and lodging for 2-4 children or 1-2 adults from Saturday afternoon March 25th to Tuesday morning March 28th. On Sunday, they will be at the church most of the day. On Monday, they will be performing for the school and doing their daily studies in the auditorium. They will depart on Tuesday morning. Host families will need to provide 3 breakfasts, 2-3 dinners, bed and bath, and open hearts! Children and youth enjoy helping out around the house (cooking and light chores) and they often share beds/sleeping spaces.
LUNCH PROVIDERS: We need help organizing and providing lunch (potluck) for the choir, our youth, host families, youth leaders, etc. at noon on Sunday for our big youth event!
CONCERT SUPPORT: We will need youth and parents to help support the concert at 4 on Sunday. Ushers, greeters, any other help the choir might need.
